Arsenal put a disappointing 2-1 Premier League defeat against Hull behind them in a 4-0 trouncing of former Champions League winners Porto in a Group G game Tuesday, while holders Manchester United won 3-0 at Aalborg BK. The only club to have a full six points from their two games is Real Madrid, who managed to win 2-1 at Zenit St Petersburg. Wayne Rooney and a second-half brace by Dimitar Berbatov saw United win comfortably in Group E, but their victory was marred by an injury to Paul Scholes, who will be out for between six to eight weeks after picking up a knee ligament injury. In Spain, Marcos Senna scored midway through the second half to give Villarreal a 1-0 victory against Celtic to push the Spanish side to four points, second to United only on goal difference. Celtic's Georgios Samaras, who had an excellent chance to open the scoring for his side in the first half, said that he thought his side deserved more from the game. "I think I was unlucky not to score in the first half, and if you look at the whole match, I think we deserved a point. We performed really well. We defended really well, and we tried to have counter attacks," he said. "I think if we perform like that in our next games, we will have a good chance to progress. We held the ball really well. We kept our shape, but that is football: one freekick, one goal, and we go back to Glasgow without any points." In London, Arsenal were in devastating form as Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie scored a brace each to take the Gunners to four points - one more than Porto. The other group game saw Dynamo Kiev hold Fenerbahce to a goalless draw in Istanbul. German champions Bayern Munich were held to a draw at home to Olympique Lyon. Argentine international defender Martin Demichelis gave the visitors the lead in the 25th minute with an own goal, but Brazilian Ze Roberto equalized seven minutes after the restart. Also in Group F, Fiorentina and Steaua Bucharest played to a goalless draw. Bayern lead the group with four points from Fiorentina, who have two. Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann said that he was happy with the way his side came back after going behind. "It was an exciting match against a good Lyon side," he said. "It was terrific how the team bounced back and always created pressure. It was simply a matter of time before we had to score." Belarusian club BATE Borisov stunned Serie A club Juventus by holding them to a 2-2 draw in Group H. The home side were leading 2-0 after just 23 minutes through goals by Sergei Kryvets and Igor Stasevich, but Vicenzo Iaquinta, who was playing his first-ever Champions League game for Juventus, levelled matters before the break with two goals. In a match played earlier Tuesday, Spanish champions Real Madrid stayed on course for a place in the knock-out stages with a 2-1 victory at Zenit St Petersburg in the other Group H match. The visitors had the best possible start after Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart managed to evade his marker and play the ball into the middle, where Slovakian defender Tomas Hubocan could only divert the ball into his own net. A capacity 21,000 crowd in the Petrovsky stadium saw the reigning UEFA Cup holders manage to find an equalizer in the 25th minute through Portuguese midfielder Danny, who scored from a pin-point Andrei Arshavin cross. That lasted just six minutes though as Ruud van Nistelrooy pounced on a ball that had only partly been cleared after a van der Vaart effort on goal.
