Bhullar lone Indian set to make cut at Kolon Hana bank

SPO7Sports/Sports/InternationalBhullar lone Indian set to make cut at Kolon Hana bankSeoul, Oct 3 IANS Gaganjeet Bhullar alone looks set to make the halfway cut at the Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open Friday. The Kapurthala youngster added an even par 71 to his first round 73 to be two-over 144. He is currently in tied 51st place, and 45 players were yet to complete their second round. Rahil Gangjee, who shot a 76 on first day, added a 74 to be six-over 150 and is tied 116th, while Amandeep Johl, 80 in the first round, had not completed his second round. He needs a card of around 64 or 65 to have a chance of making the cut. Bhullar, who came close to a breakthrough win last year in Jakarta, is looking to seal his 2009 Asian Tour card with some good finishes in the second half of the season. Meanwhile, local star Kim Wi-joong took advantage of the fog delay in the early morning to grab the clubhouse lead. The 28-year-old blasted his second consecutive four-under-par 67 in the second round for an eight-under-par 134 total. He took a narrow one stroke lead over England's Ian Poulter who nailed a steady 66 to lie in joint second place alongside Kim Dae-sub of Korea, who posted a 68 at the Woo Jeong Hills Country Club. There was a two and a half hours delay prior to tee off in the second round due to heavy fog in the early morning. After a 64 in the opening round, overnight leader and Ryder Cup star Anthony Kim slipped to a 73 and was in a tie for fourth place alongside Asian Tour's Bae Sang-moon who shot a 70 three strokes off the pace. Wi-joong, with one win on the domestic circuit this season, banked on his solid iron game to steer clear ahead of the field by firing an eagle, four birdies against two bogeys. --Indo-Asian news Servicevks/av/vt343 Words03101815
