"PPP will never fulfill PML-N's demand to bring Musharraf to task before Parliament"
Islamabad, Oct 17 ANI: If a PPP insider is to be believed, his party will never summon former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf to present himself before the parliament to answer about his "controversial actions" during his nine year regime, because "it was part of a quid-pro-quo between the PPP and Musharraf vis-a-vis his resignation two months back.He said that Musharraf had decided to resign in August after the PPP guaranteed him full protection, including not asking to present himself before the parliament."It is also part of an understanding, which also involves certain local and outside elements, that PPP leadership will not make any move, which may cause embarrassment to Musharraf," The News quoted the unidentified PPP leader as saying. He said though the PML-N, which was an alliance partner till a few months back, will continue pressing for summoning Musharraf before the Parliament, the PPP is in no mood to fulfill its demand."In addition to that his party would, at an appropriate juncture, indemnify the actions of the former president with the backing of its partners in the coalition," said the PPP insider. Asked how his would party fulfill its commitments about Musharraf, he quipped: "Did it look possible before elections or even afterwards that instead of their reinstatement, judges would be asked to take oath afresh" ANI
