court here in a sex
scandal case.The surrender by Baljinder Singh came after the Punjab and Haryana High Court rejected his bail application this week.The minister's son figures in a sex scandal involving
police officers, influential businessmen and women from Moga town, 70 km from Ludhiana. The scandal came to light in 2007.The CBI had arrested several
people, including two Punjab police officers, Davinder Singh Garcha and P.S. Sandhu, for their alleged involvement in the scandal.The policemen and Baljinder Singh had connived to blackmail prominent businessmen of Moga town by making them fall in the trap of call
girls, the CBI alleged. The
investigators say that millions of rupees were extorted from rich people of Moga by involving them in the scandal.The scandal came to light after one of the
victims of the extortion racket spilled the beans after he failed to pay up to the police officials.Tota Singh was Punjab's
education minister in a previous state
government 1997-2002, also headed by present Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.--Indo-Asian News
